About a car thermastat? When I went to change the thermostat on my car the bolt broke in half, so I went to the hardware store and got a bolt extractor, well that didn't work, so I thought that I had no other choice than to drill the bolt out but after i did that, I noticed that when I bolted it back up that it is not perfectly straight, I didn't put the new thermostat and gasket on yet but when I do I was wondering if it is even gonna work or if it's going to leak like crazy, or even if the new thermostat is gonna fit, I didn't try it out yet because the new one didn't arrive yet, I was just going to drive the car without one till it arrived. Any good advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks car insurance.

Chrysler . How to Install a Clutch Pedal

A standard piece of equipment on manual transmission vehicles, the clutch pedal is part of the overall clutch system that helps change gears for the vehicle. As part of the overall system, the pedal is the only visible part of the mechanism in the vehicle, and when depressed it disengages the clutch, disrupting the power to the transmission and allowing for you to shift gears. As with any other part in the vehicle, it is subject to wear and tear and needs to be replaced over time.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Screwdriver set
Socket set
Pliers

Step by Step :
1
Remove the old clutch pedal from the vehicle. Push the driver's seat all the way back and inspect the pedal itself to see where it connects to the shaft going through the firewall down into the transmission of the vehicle. There should be a pin holding the pedal in place, or a bolt. Remove this locking mechanism. Detach the clutch cable with the appropriate tools and completely remove the clutch pedal from the vehicle.
2
Examine all of the parts to ensure that no other pieces of the clutch system need to be replaced. Inspect the clutch cable and look for worn areas, and ensure that the pins, nuts, bolts, washers and other pieces (varied depending on what type of vehicle you are driving) are all in factory condition. Replace any pieces that are rusted or worn out.
3
Attach the new clutch pedal to the clutch cable, and attach it to the control shaft where the old one used to be. Secure it with the locking pin or bolt/screw, depending on your type of vehicle. Ensure all of the connecting parts are secured and put the driver's seat into your normal position. Start the engine and test the clutch to see if everything is working properly.

Chrysler . How to Adjust the Clutch on a '94 Honda Civic

Accessing the clutch disc assembly in your 1994 Honda Civic is a lengthy and complicated process. The splash guards, transmission and clutch disc assembly all must be removed to get at the heart of the clutch system. The problem might not be in the clutch disc assembly; it might be the clutch pedal itself. The next time the clutch pedal in your Civic loses its resistance adjust the pedal before you decide it needs an expensive repair.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Open-faced wrench set
Ruler

Step by Step :
1
Put the parking brake on and put the gear shifter in neutral.
2
Depress the clutch pedal with your hand and measure the height between the pedal and the angled floor board behind the pedal. Get an approximation and note it on a piece of paper for reference.
3
Let the clutch pedal up. Take the pedal between your thumb and pointer finger and play with the pedal up and down. The pedal should have a free play zone where there will be little to no mechanical resistance. Measure this free play zone distance with a ruler as accurately as possible and write it down.
4
Locate the clutch cable adjusting nut by following the clutch pedal arm up and underneath the steering column. Approximately half way to the top of the pedal arm will be the adjuster nut assembly. The adjuster nut will be the nut closest to the back end of the vehicle.
5
Turn the adjuster nut with an open-faced wrench. Adjust the clutch pedal until the free play zone measures 0.6 to 0.8 inches. The tip of the clutch pedal arm underneath the steering column should have 0.12 to 0.16 inches of free play if adjusted correctly. Measure and note a corresponding change in the clutch pedal disengagement height.

• Adjusting your parking brake P* Checking your anti-lock braking system (ABS) J\ s I explain in Chapter 10, all vehicles today are equipped with dual w\ hydraulic brake systems. Many newer vehicles are also equipped with anti-lock brake systems (ABS). This chapter provides instructions for doing preventive maintenance on your brakes and doing checkups that help you to spot trouble before it occurs. If you need professional work done, this chapter also provides tips that enable you to deal on an informed basis with an auto mechanic or brake specialist. En If you haven't read Chapter 10, or if you've forgotten what you read, please go back and review it before continuing with this chapter. Chapter 10 describes hydraulic brake systems on a part-by-part basis, explains the differences between disc brakes and drum brakes and between manual and power brakes, and describes parking brakes and anti-lock brake systems. You must be familiar with what should be happening when you stop your car before you can tell whether the brakes need adjusting. And you need to be familiar with the parts involved before you can work on your brakes.

Part lll: KeeP'n9 Your Car in ^ood Condition, System by System Although it's possible to do most of the work in this chapter yourself — it's not terribly complicated — I don't think that you should do major brake work without supervision. If you don't get things back properly, you risk losing much more than you gain! However, if, after reading this chapter, you simply can't stand the idea of having a total stranger replace your worn brake linings, you can always get yourself to a good auto repair class and do the work under an instructor's watchful eye. Auto classes generally have the hydraulic hoists, brake lathes, and other expensive equipment that you need to do a really good job. So even if you're sure that you need no further instruction after reading my enlightened and crystal-clear prose, having the equipment and the instructor's expertise available is still worth the price of enrollment. Extending the Life of \lour Brakes Riding your brakes causes them to wear out prematurely. The excess heat can also warp disc brake rotors and brake drums. Although being cautious is always a good policy, try to anticipate stopping situations well enough in advance to be able to slow down by releasing the pressure on your gas pedal and then using your brake pedal for that final stop. In slippery conditions — or situations that call for slowing down rather than stopping — if you have traditional brakes, pump your brake pedal to reduce speed and avoid sliding rather than jamming on your brakes and

screeching to a halt. If the road is slippery and your vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), don't pump the brake pedal; simply apply firm, steady pressure and keep steering. Checking \lour Brake System Let's start by going over the brake system in your vehicle and checking each part for wear and proper performance. If it's safe for you to do the necessary work, I'll tell you how to do it. If you need professional help, I'll tell you what the work should probably entail so that you don't end up paying for more work than is necessary. Check your brakes every 10,000 to 20,000 miles, depending on the age of your vehicle, the history of its brakes, and how much stop-and-go driving you do.

"Who are industrial managers?"

If you tend to ride your brakes (keep your foot on the brake pedal when you drive), they're getting more than normal wear and should be checked more frequently. .Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings Use extreme caution when checking vehicles with anti-lock brake systems. Some anti-lock systems are pressurized by an electric pump, and there may be more than 2,000 psi pressure in certain parts of the system! Checking your brake pedal If you're like most people, you're usually aware of only one part of your brake system: the brake pedal. You're so familiar with it, in fact, that you can probably tell if something's different just by the way the pedal feels when you put on the brakes. When you check your brake pedal, you simply do the same thing you do every time you drive: You step on the pedal and press it down. The only difference is that, this time, you pay attention to how the pedal feels under your foot and evaluate the sensation you get. The following steps tell you what to look for. Note: If your vehicle is equipped with power brakes (most are), check the brake pedal with the engine running. 1. With the car at rest, apply steady pressure to the brake pedal. Does it feel spongy? If so, you probably have air in your brake lines. Correcting this problem isn't difficult; you can probably do the job yourself with the help of a friend. For instructions, see "Bleeding Your Brakes" later in this chapter.
